Mission/Outreach

At St. Peter’s we are always seeking meaningful ways to show God’s love to a broken, selfish and hurting world. As well as giving at Christmas, we regularly collect groceries throughout the year for the local Food Bank. Especially during Lent (before Easter) our soup-making initiative coordinates individuals’ who make soup at home, package and freeze it and then deposit it in the Parish Hall deep-freeze for delivery to the local soup kitchen. Our Ladies Group contributes to various local, national and international agencies and causes. One of special note is a junior/ senior high school in Uganda known as Bishop McAllister School. This booming institution provides housing and education to hundreds of African children who otherwise would never have the opportunity. This sort of assistance is another example of thoughtful aid which rather than band-aiding a situation seeks to provide long term help with long term benefits. This type of ‘smart-aid’ equips the recipients, giving them the means to become productive in their society and self-sufficient in their own country.
